Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2025

We're straightforward about how we handle your info - no smoke and mirrors here, just honest practices.

Look, we get it - privacy policies can be a drag. We've tried to keep this one real and readable. Bottom line: we respect your privacy and won't mess around with your data. If you've got questions after reading this, just give us a shout.

When you reach out to us or use our services, we collect the basics - stuff we actually need to work with you:

  • Contact Details: Name, email, phone number, company name if you're representing one
  • Project Info: Details about your building project, site location, specific requirements you share with us
  • Technical Data: Your IP address, browser type, and how you navigate our site - standard web analytics stuff
  • Communication Records: Emails, phone conversations, meeting notes - we keep these so we don't forget what we discussed

We're not collecting anything sneaky. If we need something specific for a project, we'll ask you directly.

We're pretty practical about this. Here's what we actually do with your info:

  • Deliver Services: Design your fire-resistant buildings, provide consultations, handle your projects from start to finish
  • Stay in Touch: Send project updates, respond to your questions, schedule site visits
  • Legal Stuff: Meet building code requirements, maintain compliance records, fulfill our professional obligations
  • Improve Our Work: Analyze what's working and what isn't, make our processes better
  • Occasional Updates: Share relevant industry news, safety updates, or new services - but we won't spam you

We won't sell your data or use it for anything weird. That's not how we operate.

Sometimes we need to loop in other folks to get your project done right:

  • Project Partners: Structural engineers, contractors, fire safety specialists we collaborate with - only the info they need for your project
  • Service Providers: Cloud storage, email services, project management tools - companies that help us run our business securely
  • Regulators: Building departments, fire marshals, code officials - when required by law or for permits
  • Legal Requirements: If we're legally obligated to share something, like in response to a court order

Everyone we work with is vetted and bound by confidentiality. We don't just hand your info to random third parties.

Yeah, we use cookies - not the edible kind, unfortunately. Here's the deal:

  • Essential Cookies: Keep the site functioning properly, remember your preferences during your session
  • Analytics: Help us understand which pages people visit, how long they stay, what's useful and what's not
  • No Advertising Trackers: We're not following you around the internet or serving up creepy targeted ads

You can disable cookies in your browser if you want, though some features might not work as smoothly. Most browsers let you manage this pretty easily.

We take security seriously - kinda goes with the territory when you specialize in fire safety:

  • Encryption: Data transmission is encrypted, stored files are secured
  • Access Controls: Only team members who need access to specific info get it
  • Regular Backups: Your project data is backed up securely so nothing gets lost
  • Physical Security: Our offices are locked down, paper files are stored securely
  • Software Updates: We keep our systems patched and up-to-date

No system is 100% bulletproof, but we do everything reasonable to keep your info safe.

You've got control over your information. Here's what you can do:

  • Access: Ask us what data we have about you - we'll show you
  • Corrections: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your info? We can do that, unless we legally need to keep it for project records or compliance
  • Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime - there's a link at the bottom of each one
  • Data Portability: Get a copy of your data in a usable format

Just contact us at info@igniswarden.info or call (604) 555-0147 to exercise any of these rights.

We keep your information as long as it makes sense to:

  • Active Projects: Throughout the project and for at least 7 years after completion - that's standard for architectural records in Canada
  • Legal Requirements: Some stuff we're required to keep for regulatory purposes, building permits, code compliance documentation
  • Marketing Data: If you're on our mailing list, until you unsubscribe or we close up shop
  • General Inquiries: Usually about 2 years, then we purge old contact forms and casual queries

Once we don't need something anymore, we delete it securely. We're not digital hoarders.

We're based in Vancouver, BC, but sometimes data crosses borders:

  • Some of our cloud services might store data on servers in the US or other countries
  • If you're working with us from outside Canada, your info comes to us here
  • We only use providers that meet Canadian privacy standards (PIPEDA compliance)

Different countries have different privacy laws. We do our best to maintain strong protection regardless of where data physically sits.

Things change - laws get updated, we might add new services, technology evolves. When we update this policy, we'll:

  • Post the new version here with an updated date at the top
  • Email active clients if there's anything significant
  • Give you a heads-up on our website

We recommend checking back occasionally, especially if it's been a while. Or just bookmark this page and swing by when you think of it.
